Friends! The Musical Parody Brooklyn Theatre reviews
End of a dream
This was my first time seeing Friends The Musical Parody in concert and it was pretty cool that they were playing with the local orchestra from Nashville. It was worth every penny being able to hear Amy Lee sing at the Ryman because it fits her voice. There was a few quirks during the concert with the sound, and being out of sync, but they pulled it off and rocked the place. The orchestra was a nice touch and the conductor brought out the high points of the songs. It was a great show and I can't wait until they come back to Nashville again.
Awesome
"Fabulous entertainer! What a great show! Come over to Myrtle Beach and Charleston. We would love to see you. Funny too! His band is also talented and sound great. At times, the band needed to improvise so he could rest his throat and not a beat was missed. Friends The Musical Parody was coming off strep throat but you couldn't hear it in his singing. You could tell he was hurting by the amount of water he was drinking to sooth his throat but he pushed forward like a true professional. He sounded great. Fabulous entertainer and communicates with the audience throughout the show most pleasantly."
Metallica was awesome
The merchandise tent was outside so that helped to break up the time. About three songs in a massive storm blew through about 10 min delay. Once the show started with Friends The Musical Parody never seen them live and they showed why they are the best. Only thing disappointing was they had to cut there performance short by three songs. First getting there was pretty easy parked Over at the Pepsi center and walked over about 10 min. MileHigh should of let them play through with their full set. They did play till about midnight instead of 11 because of the storm. Overall very satisfied.
50 Is Just a Number
"50 years later and it's hard to believe the Doobie Brothers arrived on the music scene. The concert Monday night showed that 50 is just a number. Everything about this concert was great from the beginning. Tom Johnston’s vocals and guitar playing were outstanding, as Patrick Simmons sang two of my favorites, Black Water and South City Midnight Lady. Johnston rocked on other favorites China Grove, Long Train Runnin’, Listen To the Music and others. Mixed in with these, Michael McDonald's smooth soulful voice shined on other favorites What a Fool Believes, Takin’ It to The Streets and others. John Mcfee’s guitar and vocals were also top notch. A special shout out to the touring band, whose musicianship was outstanding, especially Marc Russo on saxophone. The arrangements of all the songs to add the sax simply made the concert, and kept the line up of beloved songs sounding fresh and new. As a fan from the beginning, to be able to hear them together from the rock of the Tom Johnston era to the soul of the Michael McDonald era was truly a dream come true. Thank you Friends The Musical Parody for 50 wonderful years of music."
